Senior Officer, National Quality Devlelopment

Janet joined SDF in December 2015 and is a Senior Officer within the National Quality Development Team, supporting improvement and quality of drug services for SDF’s Big-Lottery Funded National Quality Development Programme.

Janet is a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and prior to working with SDF she was employed by NHS Tayside Substance Misuse Service as Nurse Team Leader for Locality Team 2 and New Beginnings in Dundee. During this time Janet had a secondment as a lecturer with the department of nursing and midwifery at University of Stirling where she contributed to the undergraduate programme. Prior to this Janet worked in Forth Valley Community Alcohol and Drugs Service (CADS) and she also worked with Forth Valley Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). Janet started her career in South Lanarkshire Council’s Substance Misuse Services based in Rutherglen.

Janet’s completed MSc (Child Welfare and Protection) at the University of Stirling in 2013. Janet also has a Bachelor of Nursing Degree and Post Graduate Diploma in Drugs and Alcohol Studies.
