George is a former member of Scottish Drugs Forum’s award-winning Addiction Worker Training Project, progressing to the AWTP from SDF’s National Peer Research Team.
He participated in SDF’s groundbreaking research into the life histories of people who inject drugs as a peer researcher, and subsequently completed the AWTP course in March 2013.
After two successful work placements with SAMH and Crossreach projects, George went on to secure further employment with SAMH. In addition to the SVQ element of the AWTP course, George also achieved a HNC Qualification in Health and Social Care in his role as an SDF trainee.
As a front line support worker supporting service users with complex needs, George brings a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience to the SDF Board.
George was previously an SDF Board Member between 2013 and 2016.
