Fife Voices Community Health Event

Fife (Hepatitis) Voices Forum are hostiong a free event on the 31st of July as part of World Hepatitis Day.

Date: 31 July 2018 / 12-3 pm
Location: Savoy Park (Byron Street) Methil

There  is  a  global  effort  to  eliminate  hepatitis  C  as  a  public  health  threat  by  2030. The Scottish  Government has  committed  to  meet this  and  NHS  Fife  has  funded Fife Hepatitis Voices Forum to provide innovative actions to assist in meeting this target.

Fife (Hepatitis) Voices Forum is a collective of local activists and agencies including Hepatitis Scotland, Scottish Drug Forum and The Hepatitis C Trust.  The Forum activity is supported through a one off development grant from Fife NHS Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Executive Group.

Fife  (Hepatitis)  Voices  Forum  has  chosen  to  focus  on  providing  free  community  health events in areas of high deprivation where there is a greater prevalence of substance use and complex  health  issues.   To  avoid  the  stigma  that  faces  people  living  with  or  at  risk of Hepatitis  C,  this  event  will  be  designed  and  advertised  to  attract  all  local community members whilst at the same time providing ‘health check’ interventions and an opportunity to raise awareness of related issues and the support services available.

Where you come in:

The planning group have created a wish list of what we think would work well at the event. We are calling on all local stakeholders to see who can:

  • attend/ send representatives
  • provide stalls or interventions
  • make recommendations on who may be able to help with ‘wish list’
  • Send  in  any  ideas  or  contacts  that  would  improve  the  events  or  attract  people
    to come along.
