The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) have recommended to the UK Government to classify methylphenidate-based new psychoactive substances (NPS) as Class B substances in a new report.
The report, ‘Methylphenidate-related Novel Psychoactive Substances: A review of the evidence of use and harms’ contains the full list of proposed substances.
This includes ethylphenidate, which was subject to a Temporary Class Drug Order in June 2015 after recommendations from Police Scotland that it was causing damage to people who were using it in the Lothian area.
