Scottish Drugs Forum has designed and delivered a briefing to every MSP ahead of a Ministerial statement in the Scottish Parliament on Scotland’s drug policy.
The SDF briefing focuses on the current public health crisis of drug-related deaths and describes the current situation and the steps that can be taken to begin to reverse the tragic and appalling loss of life.
Specifically, the document presents the current situation in Scotland relating to problem substance use, explains the treatment systems in place, the role of the new Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) standards, and the drug strategy in Scotland.
The briefing has been produced as an information resource for MSPs ahead of a Ministerial statement on Scotland’s drug policy, which will be delivered at the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday the 20th of January at 2.30pm and can be watched here.
