This position is full-time (based on 35 hours per week) and is fixed-term for 1 year.
Scottish Drugs Forum (SDF) is Scotland’s national resource of expertise on drugs and related issues. We seek to lead and represent the drugs field in Scotland in order to improve Scotland’s response to problem drug use. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a busy and dynamic team that plays a crucial role within a national third sector organisation.
We are pleased to be recruiting for an exciting new position of Communications Assistant to support our communication and information activity on a day-to-day basis. This post will involve supporting SDF’s social media presence, website, and other online channels – as well as content creation for regular e-bulletins.
The post will also help design and produce a range of resources including reports, brochures, leaflets and flyers for a range of audiences including people who use drugs; people who use specialist drug treatment and support services; professionals and staff working in these and mainstream services.
The role will also include the development and editing of video and still image resources and support to online events. As part of a team, you will be supported to develop skills in these areas but should have enthusiasm and a demonstrable aptitude for this work.
A strong visual design sense and or an interest and aptitude for photography would be valued.

The successful candidate will be based at SDF’s Head Office, which is located in Glasgow city centre, close to Central Station. Under current pandemic restrictions SDF’s office has been closed as a ‘non-essential office’. Candidates should be willing and able to work effectively from home under these circumstances.
