Workforce Development Coordinator
To design and deliver workforce learning and development for the national workforce in Scotland engaged with people experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol to contribute to measurable improvements in the quality of services.
Key responsibilities
– To design and deliver learning and development packages to meet the needs of staff and services engaged with people experiencing problems with drugs and alcohol encompassing contemporary research, information and good practice.
– To lead on the design and delivery of Motivational Interviewing (MI) training and coaching to support continuing learning and skilfulness in the practice of MI.
– Line management of Senior Learning and Development Officers to support SDF’s workforce development strategy.
Background
Alan has been responsible for designing and delivering high quality learning and development opportunities for Alcohol and Drug Partnerships and a breadth of national and regional organisations within the substance use and broader health and social care sectors since 2009. As well as at SDF Alan was responsible for national workforce development at Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol (STRADA).
Alan is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
Alan holds a BA in Community Learning and Development, a Post Graduate Certificate in Addictions and an SCQF Level 11 in Trauma on Mental Health from the University of Glasgow.
