Training and Development Officer (Peer Naloxone)
Emir is responsible for the delivery of peer-to-peer naloxone training at SDF. He works with external partners throughout Scotland to support the peer supply of naloxone in various settings including community and prison projects.
Key Responsibilities:
– Supporting the senior officer to facilitate project steering groups with Scottish Prison Service, National Health Service & 3rd Sector partners to support expansion of peer naloxone
– Co-Chairing the National Peer Naloxone Network bringing together projects from across Scotland
– Delivering the bespoke 2-day naloxone peer training for trainers’ package for ongoing projects
– Supporting naloxone peers through reflective practice and one to one sessions
– Facilitating drug harm reduction conversation cafes within prison settings
Background:
Emir achieved an SVQ level 3 in Social Sciences & Healthcare whilst working as manager at a residential treatment centre.
