Living Experience Engagement Senior Officer
Jason manages the Living Experience Engagement Team at Scottish Drugs Forum, working with the project team to amplify the voices of people with living experience of substance use on a local and national level via facilitation of living experience engagement groups across Scotland. Jason is currently a member of the National Collaborative Change Team and is involved in various public and patient involvement and engagement elements to academic research including co-chairing the Expert by Experience Supporting Harm Reduction Through Peer Support (SHARPS) study group.
Key Roles/Responsibilities
– Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the living experience project and line managing the development officers working on the project
– Overseeing the facilitation and collation of feedback to key stakeholders from the national living experience engagement group
– Leading on the monitoring, evaluation and building the sustainability and autonomy of the living experience groups
– Coordinating involvement of living experience group members in national consultation and public and patient involvement and engagement for academic projects
Background:
Jason has a wealth of experience embedding lived and living experience expertise in service delivery, policy and practice having worked in a variety of roles at SDF over the last 12 years including the peer naloxone programme and the peer research team. Jason has SVQs in Health and Social Care and Learning and Development and is an Honorary Research Fellow of Stirling University, having been involved in a range of academic studies covering topics such as substance use, homelessness and Hepatitis C.
