Research and Peer Engagement Programme Manager
Katy oversees operations across the research and peer engagement work, including the peer research, peer naloxone and living experience departments in SDF. She has 20 years’ experience of working in a variety of social care settings including substance use, criminal justice, mental health, LGBT+ services, homelessness & learning disabilities.
Key responsibilities:
– Project, contract and funding management
– Line managing senior staff coordinating the research and peer engagement workstreams and providing senior management support to the wider staff and volunteers within the team
– Ethical oversight for research and evaluation work and managing public and patient involvement and engagement (PPIE) in academic research
– Coordinating living experience drug trend monitoring
– Training and workforce development
Background:
Katy is qualified in health and social care, learning and development, psychotherapy and child and adolescent mental health. She currently provides one to one counselling within a trauma and homelessness charity and has extensive experience of delivering and researching substance use treatment and support within residential services, community-based settings, at music festivals and the wider nighttime economy.
