Steven is part of the newly formed National Engagement Team within SDF. Part of his role as a development officer is to deliver a platform for attendees to have their voices heard regarding their recovery, with a view to promoting change.
Steven was part of the FASS naloxone peer educators programme 2017 where he gained the naloxone T4T certificate through the SDF peer educators programme and delivered this to families affected by addiction. During other volunteering roles Steven also gained a qualification in COSCA counselling skills in 2018 and Human Development and Behaviour in 2017.
Steven successfully completed an SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care in residential and community settings. During this time Steven also took part in the Erasmus+ programme in 2017 in the Czech Republic where he supported others in various supportive harm reduction and recovery settings throughout the city of Prague.
Since Steven’s completion of his SVQ level 3 and other qualifications he has worked in frontline services throughout Glasgow for over 5 years. In these roles he has supported others with their own personal recovery through psychosocial interventions and a harm reduction approach.
