Senior Development Officer, Emergency Responses & Drug Trends
Danielle’s role involves reviewing the current and potential future developments of our drug market, how this is impacting those using substances, communities, and services, and how to appropriately respond.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and deliver vital trainings on a variety of subjects such as Drug Trends, Wounds, Blood Bourne Viruses, and Injection Equipment Provisions.
-Coordinate and Chair the Scottish Needle Exchange Workers Forum
-Work closely with various Alcohol and Drug Partnerships, NHS, and PHS in a coordinated effort to respond to drug harms and trends.
-Work closely with various internal and external teams, including living experience, to assess current drug trends and there impacts.
Background
Danielle has worked for a number of years in the drug and alcohol sector in a variety of roles including treatment, harm reduction, drug death prevention, assessment, and assertive outreach in the United States and Scotland. She has a degree in Behavioural Science, however her own experiences and personal life drew her to this field and reinforced her passion and belief that we can always work harder to meet the needs of those using substances.
