SDF’s Innovative Practice Showcase
Join us at the 2024 Innovative Practice Showcase, a premier event spotlighting innovative practice in the substance use and related fields. This is your chance to explore the latest advances in practice in treatment, support, education, prevention, staff development and other services across Scotland.
At this event, you’ll hear directly from service providers who are driving and delivering meaningful change. Through dynamic presentations and engaged discussions, discover how innovative practices are transforming lives and improving services for individuals and professionals alike.
Event Programme
Audit Scotland will launch their new report on ‘Drug and Alcohol Services’ in Scotland at this event with a keynote address by Ray Buist and Jillian Matthew.
This year’s Showcase also features two thought-provoking sessions on “The Innovation Families Would Like To See – A Learning Journey with Rialto Community Drug Team, Dublin“ led by Families Campaign for Change and people with living experience. These sessions will challenge service providers and commissioners to push the boundaries of innovation in their work.

‘Improving the in-patient hospital experience for people who use drugs’ NHS Lothian.
‘Crisis Outreach Service – a service designed and commissioned in response to feedback’ Turning Point Scotland, North Lanarkshire.
‘The My Family, My Rights programme a self-advocacy course and self-advocacy service support’ Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs – National.
‘Providing holistic support through a community hub’ With You, Dundee.
‘Recovery Houses – Residential services for mothers and their children’ Aberlour National.
‘Reducing ‘did not attend’ for new clients using a new call system’ DAPL, Fife.
‘Co-located joint NHS / third sector provision of early interventions for young people’ STRIVE – The Corner and Hillcrest Futures, Dundee.
